post-Pokemon Dinner Date

We had dinner together at the Houge House on Saturday night. Brazey did some coloring.

Uncle Dave helped. Brazey's like a tiny surgeon with an assistant when he colors. He'll hand you a marker and say, "Hnnh?" which means, "Open this, please." You open it and hand it back to him. He makes a stroke or two and hands the marker back to you for you to cap, then selects another marker and hands it to you, saying "Hnnh?" for you to open it. Repeat until drawing is complete.

Funny.

Really funny.

There goes Brazey, with his new Rooney Doodle electronic guitar.

Brazey climbed up himself to sit with Jack and watch Destiny Deoxys: The Movie.

I thought it was pretty cute. Can you tell?

Bin looks on as Evan engages in the Full Immersion Pokemon Program.

They had some fun.

File this under "blackmail."

Move over Rooney Doodle, cuz Pete Townsend is on the scene.

New trick.

Get down, Brown Eyes.

You talkin to me? You talkin' to me?

See, by the end of the night Brazey and Davey were good friends.

together again

Brazey came prepared with toys and books to while away an hour or two while big brother engaged other Pokemon trainers in battle.

Evan peruses his deck.

Jack refuses to play. If asked why he doesn't play he always says, "It's too complicated. Even Xandar thinks so."

Big hugs. We'd had some illness at the Houge House, so we were on quarantine from the Tuckers for fear of infecting the baby, who always gets one of those raging ear infections after a cold, then the antibiotics mess up his digestion, and none of us want that. So the Houges and the Tuckers hadn't seen each other for nigh on two weeks.

Aaron looks at Happy Baby ABC. Ask him what the kittens say.

Chubby thigh, showing off some body art.

Brothas.

Brotha from anotha motha.

Bin coaches Evan as he battles an opponent. I told Ev I'd work with him on his deck.

By the end of the weekend Brazey was comfortable with Uncle Dave, but not. quite. yet.

Mom, do you have 4 quarters? Do you have a dollar?

happy birthday, Uncle Brock

We missed your birthday, Uncle Brock. And we miss you! When are you coming home? The boys drew a whiteboard birthday card for you, and then sang a campy "Happy Birthday," and I thought I got a video but I didn't. So this explanation must suffice:

You have three large wrapped "presints" which are books, video games, and DVDs. In the middle Evan wrote, "Hi daddy." I guess you better plan a camping trip when you get back because they've got it all worked out. That tiny tent on the left is for Mandy and Aaron. The middle tent is for me and Dave, with Cassie in her kennel under the table. That orange bulge at the top of the middle tent is my "food sack," according to Jack, which makes me feel insectile. That large tent on the right offers your sleeping arrangements, with Jack and Evan and way more purple luggage than we should be taking on a camping trip, but Evan deemed it important. Apparently all of us arrived at the campsite in the purple car floating up there next to the big 34.

Wish we could have celebrated your birthday with you. Hope you had a good time. Hope you're coming home soon.

happy birthday, Momma_Dee!

Brazey, do your thing!

When you say to Brazey, "Do your thing!" he makes this funny little face. A few days ago he would shrug his shoulders up, then do the face and the shoulders together, and now it's just the face. Funny little Brazey.
